Regional Sales Manager - Central USA
Job Information

Department:      Sales

Supervisor:       Sales Group Manager

Reporting directly to the Sales Group Manager of Metalumen Manufacturing Inc., you would be responsible for increasing sales and maintaining or increasing current margins. The Regional Sales Manager will reach his or her business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to agent and customer sites. You will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with agents/customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Assists with the definition of overall strategic direction, strategies and priorities of the sales department
  • Translates finalized strategic direction into practical operating plans for implementation within your territory
  • Manages a comprehensive, resilient agent and client base to drive business initiatives
  • Consolidates and reports progress against plan to senior management and colleagues
  • Reviews and refines plan/program intentions against actual practices and outcomes
  • Ensures key agent/customer acquisition, retention and development  
  • Assists and supports the development of product / service offerings, pricing and performance criteria
  • Detects and reports territory market trends and opportunities and recommends responsive action
  • Prepares market / competitive analyses and forecasts as required to optimize territory effectiveness
  • Promotes and enhances general awareness of organizational / strategic intentions, goals and standards to our agent and customer base

Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience in a manufacturing setting, lighting industry knowledge an asset
  • Experience successfully managing complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish
  • Demonstrated ability to read/interpret customers’ production drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to use diplomacy and discretion in the performance of the job functions, where the confidentiality of the information used and solicited in the performance of these duties is to be maintained without question.
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret significant amounts of information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Product Marketing Manager
Job Information

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the President, the Product Marketing Manager is responsible for providing full product life cycle management to our newer as well as legacy products and or product lines. The incumbent will work closely with teams across the organization, specifically Marketing Communications, Engineering and Sales, to set positioning and messaging, build product launch strategies, manage and analyze product releases, develop sales enablement content, and drive engagement. Additionally the incumbent will prepare items for management review.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and define product portfolio strategy of each lighting line/family (such as market and cost)
  • Determines customers’ needs and desires by undergoing the research needed to obtain market information
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes; and formulating a cost benefit analysis
  • Own the product development, targeted channel/segment and product forecasting
  • Understands, leads, and directs the estimation of costs, price, margins, quantities, manufacturing methods and availability associated with projects, evaluates the results and recommends appropriate strategies
  • Analyze internal and competitive order rates, prices, features & benefits, technology and marketing tactics
  • Be highly engaged with Marketing Communications, Sales, and New Product Design teams to provide leadership among facilitating the launch of new products
  • Become an expert at lighting portfolios in relation to technical, financial, and market needs
  • Cultivate sales propositions for portfolios alongside Marketing Communications, Sales, and New Product Development
  • Provides informal and formal technical support to all internal departments and external customers and agents
  • Provide leadership and support to all departments including senior management in the form of presentations to articulate product strategy
  • Execute a Product Marketing budget that aligns with marketing goals and strategies
  • Strive to increase company sales growth and profit margins
  • Predict & monitor product vitality
  • Create a strategy to expose business presence of Metalumen within the industry
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 6-10 years marketing experience in a manufacturing setting, lighting industry knowledge an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years experience developing and implementing product marketing strategies and measuring their effectiveness through KPIs
  • Experience successfully managing complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration, communication or marketing, an LC (Lighting Certified) designation an asset.

Electrical/Mechanical Designer
Job Information

Department:      Engineering

Supervisor:      Engineering Manager

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the primary responsibility for this position will be the design of standard and configurable/custom lighting fixtures from concept through prototyping and manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Duties will include all aspects to Engineering controlled practices and functions including costing, BOM’s, BOO’s, CAD/CAM and drawings with responsibility to ensure that technical performance, cost, manufacturability, and time targets/deadlines are met.
  • Review and redesign of existing products and processes to increase customer value and also increase manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to internal customers
  • Design of sheet metal, extrusion, casting
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 3D CAD experience , (Solidworks or Solidedge preferred, others considered)
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes, primarily sheet metal, extrusions, and castings
  • Excellent inter-departmental communication skills with various departments such as: Quotations, Sales, and Manufacturing to strive for 100% customer satisfaction
